Financial Reporting Staff Accountant

San Antonio, TX

Position Summary:

Due to our continuing and steady growth we are seeking an additional person to be part of our dynamic Accounting department.

Essential Responsibilities:

Assist with monthly financial close activities including:

  • Proper application of US GAAP
  • Preparation of monthly financial statement
  • Preparing and reviewing of month end reports
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Be able to interact with audit personnel to independently resolve questions
  • Continuously improve monthly close processes
  • Assist in developing and improving processes and procedures
  • Support calculation of Receivables and Payables
  • Performs other special projects and analyses as directed by management
  • Adhere to privacy, confidential and proprietary company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Current Texas Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting experience preferred)
  • Strong Excel® skills required
  • Experience in Sage MAS500® strongly desired
  • Detail oriented with exceptional accounting, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to prepare and analyze data and prioritize work effectively
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in various forms
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities in an ever changing environment
