Claims Supervisor

San Antonio, TX

Position Summary:

The Medical Claims Supervisor is responsible for supervising the medical claims analysts to ensure accurate and prompt payment of claims, in addition to reporting of statistics/data for internal usage. The Claims Supervisor is also responsible for adjudication of all claims, handling claims analyst daily production and as needed recalculating claims for proper adjudication.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the daily management of the Claims Department.
  • Effectively plans staff responsibilities to help manage activities, utilizing staff resources to meet departmental goals in accordance with established business goals.
  • Continually work with the Claims Manager to improve policy and procedures, efficiency, and customer service for internal and external clients.
  • Assists with prompt pay turnaround time on all claims and handle priority claims within 24 hours.
  • Handle all customer service audits and quality assurance errors/opportunities within 48 hours
  • Coordinate with the Claims Manager on workflow issues and the handling of batches in date order.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years Medical Claims processing experience
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
