Position Summary

FCE is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team as a Sales and Marketing Executive for the dynamic San Antonio area. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in seeking, developing, and nurturing client relationships specifically within our FCE Benefit client base. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proven track record in benefits administration, Wellness Service Benefits, Employee Assistance Program Services, Ancillary Benefits or consulting, bringing essential expertise in legal compliance, affirmative action, and benefit plan management.

This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape governing employee benefits. Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact between FCE and prospective or new clients. Develop strong, lasting business relationships to drive new business growth and support client retention strategies.
  • Sales & Strategy: Leverage your motivation and sales skills to close new business opportunities, strategize for annual benefit renewals, and maintain robust relationships with insurance carriers.
  • Compliance Expertise: Utilize extensive background knowledge (5-7 years’ experience) in legal compliance areas, including employment affirmative action, benefit administration, and labor/employee relations, to consult effectively with clients.
  • Client Onboarding & Support: Introduce newer clients to our Online Administration Services and the FCE team of professionals, assist in facilitating employee and employer issues, and have some involvement in the plan implementation process.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends, company products, and product changes to provide expert advice and solutions.
  • Travel: Ability to travel on a regular basis to visit client sites.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: 5-7 years of prior experience in benefits administration/consulting or within the Health insurance industry. Brokerage experience is highly desirable.
  • Licensing: A current Life and Accident/Health License is required.
  • Educational Background: An undergraduate degree in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, Business Administration, or Human Resources, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential to build rapport and manage complex negotiations.
  • Attributes:
    • A self-starter who can work independently and manage a robust pipeline.
    • Must be motivated and possess the ability to close sales effectively.
    • Exceptional organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
    • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office® applications.
