Use FCE’s toll-free Member Services support line to verify eligibility and benefits, check the status of claims, and obtain assistance with Plan provisions. 

Live customer service professionals are available Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm CST. 

Interactive Voice Response (IVR)

FCE’s San Antonio claims and eligibility operation’s center provides an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) fax system which enables medical, dental and vision providers to receive hard-copy fax transmissions of eligibility and benefit data for patient members and their dependents. This hard copy format eliminates the miscommunications that occasionally arise from live telephonic dialogue for coverage verification.

This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Services

To ensure maximum efficiency and productivity in your office and to increase the accuracy of claims processing, FCE recommends that you submit your claims using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).  FCE’s Payer Number is 33033.

National Provider Identifier (NPI)

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) has mandated the adoption of a standard unique identifier for health care providers.  FCE is prepared to accept and maintain NPI numbers for individual providers, provider groups, ancillary providers and facilities.  Provider Tax Identification Numbers will continue to be required by FCE for claims processing and reimbursement.
